A brand is a promise, repeated
A customer never meets you only once. They see your sign, then your social page, then your website, then your invoice. At every touchpoint, they unconsciously check that it really is you.
When colours, tone and visuals change from one medium to another, that check fails. The brand looks less solid, even when the product is excellent.
Signs of an inconsistent identity
A few symptoms come up again and again:
- several versions of the logo in circulation, stretched or recoloured;
- colours that are only “roughly” blue or red depending on the printer;
- a formal tone on the website and a casual one on social media;
- materials made in a hurry, with no shared template.
Building a foundation that holds
A consistent identity rests on a few well-defined elements: a logo and its variations, a colour palette with exact codes, one or two typefaces, and a handful of usage rules.
These elements are gathered in brand guidelines that anyone producing a document can follow — in-house or at an agency.
Where to start
List your current materials and lay them side by side. The gaps jump out. It is often the best starting point to decide what to keep, simplify or redo.
At Digital Partner, we start from that inventory to build an identity that looks like you and adapts effortlessly.
